Richard Jeffrey is Chief Economist at Cazenove Capital and is responsible for the macro-economic framework that supports the investment process. He joined in 2008. Since completing a Master’s degree in Quantitative Economics, Richard has worked as a professional macroeconomist and market strategist. Richard has 37 years’ investment experience and appears frequently on radio and television and writes for a number of journals. He works with a number of think-tanks and academic organisations and currently sits on the Finance Committee of Bristol University.
Chief Investment Officer
Caspar Rock joined Cazenove Capital in September 2016 and is Chief Investment Officer. He joined from Architas Multi-Manager Ltd, a part of the AXA group, where he was Chief Investment Officer and responsible for all aspects of the investment activities, including investment philosophy, process and team. He also oversaw portfolio management at two of AXA group’s private banks. He previously headed up the multi-manager business at AXA Framlington from 2006 to 2008. Prior to that, he managed a range of directly invested equity and bond portfolios, and was Head of European Equities at Framlington as well as a member of the Healthcare team. He has 29 years’ investment experience.
Head of Manager Selection
Stuart Derrick is Head of Manager Selection. He joined in 2004 as part of the charities team before later moving to the investment team to focus on fund selection. Stuart started his investment career at Baring Asset Management in 1998. He holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC), Private Client Investment Advice & Management (PCIAM) certificate and is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. He has also completed the London Business School Foundation and Endowment Asset Management Course.
Head of Investment Strategy
Kieron joined in 2011 and was previously the Head of the Strategic Advisory Group at Rothschild Private Management. Prior to his 8 years at Rothschild, Kieron spent 15 years at Citigroup as a Proprietary Trader in Volatility Arbitrage and later in the Private Bank. His investment career started in 1987 when he joined Samuel Montagu & Co. Ltd.
Head of Fixed Income
Alex Smitten joined in 2000 where he managed the Income Trust for Charities and the UK Corporate Bond Fund. Alex is now Head of Fixed Income and is a member of the Investment Policy Committee. Prior to joining Cazenove Capital, he was at Intercapital, where he set up the agency bond broking desk. Alex spent nine years at TSB/Hill Samuel where he was responsible for proprietary bond activity on behalf of the Group. Alex graduated from City University with a degree in Banking and International Finance. He has 29 years of investment experience.
Janet is a Global Economist working in the Investment Strategy Team and a CFA charterholder. She joined in 2011 and previously worked in Citi Hong Kong as an analyst in Global Portfolio Management and subsequently as a relationship manager to multi-national clients. Janet graduated with a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics (first class honours), holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Cambridge and obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Econometrics from Birkbeck College, University of London.
